The tours are conducted for voluntary donations and last about 3 hours. The tours are organized like a casual walk and are not strenuous.
We also offer closed tours for companies or families at your desired times. Please contact

how do I get into the valley and how do I get out again?

There are several public transport connections. You can find more information about this under the point "How to find us". No one has been stranded with us yet. There are always private cars driving to the Lechtal and Inntal. Let's look at each other. Autostoppers are gladly taken along and should you get stuck, our team is gladly available for a ride.

can I stay overnight with you?

Of course. There are enough sleeping possibilities. Especially the Bergheimat in Boden and the Gasthaus zur Gemütlichkeit as well as the Gästehaus Klug offer enough space. Mention when booking that you are visiting the medienfrische and depending on the booking situation it will be a little cheaper. Information can be found on the websites of the tourism association and with us under opencall/accommodation.

faq's for artists

does my art have to stay in the place?

Your art remains your work and therefore your property. The idea of medienfrische, however, is that something is left behind in the village or a gift for the valley. The works are to remain in the art store in Bschlabs, which in the best case will become a museum in the next few years. The content is thus already there and should form the foundation stone for a possible building in the future.

can i arrive by car?

Yes, of course. It would even be an advantage if some artists arrive by car. They could then drive from time to time to the next village (to the supermarket) and bring something to eat for those who are less mobile, for example. However, since we are very concerned about our environment, we recommend to travel by public transport.

can i bring my children?

In exceptional cases, this is certainly possible. Especially single parents we want to accommodate. Unfortunately, we cannot provide separate rooms for the children. Everything that the child needs must be paid for by the parents themselves. The children can eat with us - the cost of meals is 15€ per child per day. The medienfrische cannot take over costs or liability for the children. In general, however, we are happy if children want to accompany their parents.

are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, no animals or pets are allowed in all our accommodations. Exceptions are possible, for example in the Bergheimat. However, this leads to increased costs, which must be paid by the participants* themselves. Assistance animals are of course allowed.

is it possible to participate with little to no knowledge of german?

Yes, it is possible. We also speak English and partly French and Spanish. And we are also very good with hands and feet. You can find the application form under open call also in English.

is it dangerous in the Bschlab valley?

No. But! We are in the high mountains at 1,400m surrounded by nature. Temperatures and the weather can change extremely fast. Common sense is an important thing and in case of uncertainty better ask exactly how to behave in the high mountains.

where can i shop?

There are no stores or service providers in Bschlabertal. The nearest shopping facilities are in Imst or in the Lechtal in Elmen and the neighboring communities. The nearest pharmacy is in Imst, Elbigenalp and Holzgau. The nearest gas station is in Häselgehr. We always go to these places and can get you needed things.

what can I do with the Lechtal Card?

Upon arrival you will receive the Lechtal Card, which is valid in your name for the duration of your stay. With this card you can use the public transport free of charge. Please inform yourself about the bus times on the notice boards in the villages. The app or the website of the VVT (Verkehrsverbund Tirol) can also be used.
With the card, bicycles can also be rented for a small fee. In addition, you can use certain mountain railroads free of charge. You can find everything else about the card on the website of our partner TVB Lechtal
