is there an artist's fee?

No, unfortunately, there is not. But we are trying to create a budget for honorariums for the next years.

does my art have to stay in the place?

Your art remains your work and therefore your property. However, the idea of medienfrische is that something is left behind in the village or a gift for the valley. Your work is to remain in the art store in Bschlabs, which in the best case will become a museum in the next few years. The content is thus already there and should form the foundation stone for a possible building in the future.

can i arrive by car?

Yes, of course. It would even be an advantage if some artists arrive by car. They could then drive from time to time to the next village (to the supermarket) and bring something to eat for those who are less mobile, for example.

can i bring my children?

Yes, that is not a problem. Unfortunately, we cannot provide separate rooms for the children. Everything that the child needs must be brought by the parents themselves. The children can eat with us - the catering costs are 10€ per child per day. The medienfrische can neither assume costs nor liability for the children. In general, however, we are happy if children want to accompany their parents.

are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, no animals or pets are allowed in all our accommodations.

is it possible to participate with little to no knowledge of german?

Yes, this is possible. You can find the application form at open call also in English.

what can i see as a visitor or spectator and when should i come?

From May 25 to June 26, 2022, there will be something to see every day in the Bschlab Valley. At the village square in Bschlabs we will display the exhibitions and places worth seeing. You can watch artists* at work, visit an exhibition or just a farmhouse - there is always something to discover. There will also be events (e.g. concerts, music evenings or readings), which will be announced separately under timetable to be found separately.
